Better Brighter Vision
Community
Two hundred and ninety-two visually impaired students from the B40 group in two schools in the Lembah Pantai constituency now have ‘brighter’ futures, after receiving spectacles through a new aid programme.
The fortunate students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Pantai and Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Bandaraya received the aid through a Corporate Social Responsibility pilot programme called ‘Better. Brighter. Vision’. The effort by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) became possible with help from The Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital.
Under the programme, a total of 4,289 students from five schools were selected. They were put through two stages of screening to determine eligibility and need and attended a briefing session on eyecare, while eye screening tests were conducted by a team from the Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital.
